5th Week of Lent

Anytime this week:

• Read: Read the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday (Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion).
• Discuss:
  • What strikes you when you hear the story of the Lord’s Passion?¹
  • The soldiers beat Jesus and made fun of Him. How do you think that made Jesus feel?¹
  • When, like Judas or Peter, have you let someone down who trusted you? How did you feel?
• Do: Recite a rosary together as a family, meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries that reflect on the journey Jesus took during Holy Week.

March 25: The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.

The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord commemorates the angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary to inform her that she was to be the mother of our Savior. Mary says “yes” to God’s will and conceives Jesus in her womb by the power of the Holy Spirit.

• Eat: Enjoy Annunciation blueberry coffee cake and learn why the color blue is associated with the Blessed Virgin Mary.
• Pray: Pray the Magnificat (Canticle of Mary).
