Holy Week Prayers and Blessings

The Seven Last Words

The Gospels record Jesus speaking seven different times as he hung on the cross. Use these resources to reflect on Christ’s final words.

  • Pray with this slideshow from Loyola Press:
    • “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
    • “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
    • “Woman, behold your son. Son, behold your mother.” (John 19:26–27)
    • “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46 & Mark 15:34)
    • “I thirst.” (John 19:28)
    • “It is finished.” (Matthew 27:46 & Mark 15:34)
    • “Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)
  • Read and reflect on Jesus’ Seven Last Words with this resource from the Knights of Columbus.

Litany of the Sacred Passion

  • Pray The Litany of the Sacred Passion which draws together all the events of Jesus’ dying day.

Our Vision

We strive to be a vibrant, welcoming and supportive community of Catholics, called by the Father through Baptism, fed by Christ in the Eucharist, and guided by the Spirit to deepen our relationship with God and lead others to Him through prayer, fellowship, service, learning, giving, and outreach to others.
