As Dale Edward Mallory, a seminarian from this parish, prepares for possible diaconate ordination this summer, the People of God are asked about his worthiness. If you are aware of any reason why this man should not be ordained, you are asked to contact:
Fr. Jacob Greiner
4105 N. Division Street
Davenport, IA, 52806
The names of those expressing concerns will not be shared with any of the candidates, though the nature of the concern may be shared with them as part of the discernment and evaluation process.
Dale will be celebrating his first Mass after being ordained to the diaconate on June 13th. Please join us in celebrating this joyous occasion, as well as the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua, at a luncheon after Sunday Mass. All are welcome!
The social action commission is working to coordinate a service project each month to provide opportunities for our parish to be active in the community. In honor of Memorial Day, join us on Saturday, June 5 from 9:00 a.m. – noon as we partner with members from the county Pioneer Cemetery Commission to do a clean up at one of our pioneer cemeteries. This is a family-friendly project. Call Laura Hollinrake @ 641-842-5267 if you can help.
St. Anthony Parish is in need of persons interested in assisting with live-streaming the Mass on Sundays and Holy Days. If you would like to help, please contact Cris Schwanebeck or Abby Glann.
Holy Land Pilgrimage with Fr. Appel and Fr. Anstey , October 4-15, 2021
It is a joy to invite you to join us on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Since our youth we have heard the Gospel stories about the Lord Jesus walking and teaching in Jerusalem, Capernaum, and Galilee. We will be seeing those places and much more. Our visit will give us an opportunity of walking in the footsteps of Jesus, our Blessed Mother Mary, and the very first disciples. Each day we will celebrate Mass at one of the holy places and reflect on the Gospel text appropriate to the place we visit. This pilgrimage will forever change the way you read and understand the Scriptures. We hope you will be able to join us on what promises to be a grace-filled journey to the land from where it at all started.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Paul Appel and Fr. Kevin Anstey
