Each year many people start the Lenten season with the intention of doing things to grow in their faith but often end the season with a feeling that it once again slipped by while they were caught up in the busyness of life. This year, you can experience Lent in a new and meaningful way–and one that can help you stay focused on the season–by participating in Live Lent!, a small-group faith-sharing process.
What is Live Lent? Live Lent! is a small group process. Groups of 4-8 people will gather weekly for six weeks via Zoom videoconferencing; the sessions last an hour. Participants use the Live Lent! resource which guides them through prayer, reading of the upcoming Sunday Gospel, and discussion of the reading and its life application.
Why should I participate? Participating in a small group can help you better understand how God is working in your life and the lives of others. It provides an opportunity for fellowship. And, journeying with others can help you stay focused on Lent and be more disciplined in your faith practices. The small group program at St. Anthony started last fall; there are currently three women’s groups and one men’s group meeting weekly. We’re excited to get more groups going this Lent and would love to have you join us!
What else do I need to know?
- Sessions will begin the week of February 14 and end the week of March 21.
- Groups will be organized by the availability of participants. Using Zoom gives us a lot of flexibility in scheduling (one of the current groups meets at 8 PM after their small children are in bed). On the registration form you’ll fill in the days and times you’re available and we’ll do our best to match you with a group.
- You’ll need Internet access and a camera-enabled computer, iPad/tablet, or smartphone. If using an iPad/tablet or smartphone you’ll need to download the free Zoom app. Contact us if you need more information about or help with Zoom.
- There is no cost to participate, but we do ask you to do your best to attend all the sessions.
How do I sign up? To participate, complete the registration form below. The registration deadline is —February 1.
